yep sounds like newly hatched snails, just remove as much of the slime as you can, check your water stats and do a usual water change to freshen the quality of the water, your nitrate might be high due to the waste off the snails you have.

thanx for that i'll go test the water now yeah i do a frequent water change with all the rite stuff to put in it ive got another 130 babies to put in the tank so am thinking of putting the big ones in the main tank and starting fresh with the baby tank.. the babies r in a breeding tank in my big tank at the mo should b ok there for a few days more while i re do the baby tank.... ive put 2 of the big babbies in the normal tank and they seem to b doing fine so mite put them all in now then restart.....thanx for the reply xxxxx

How many gallons is the tank they are in and are the fry showing any odd symptoms whether behavioral or physical, like clamped fins, flick/rubbing themselves on objects in the tank, cotton wool like growths etc etc?

thats a really lot of fry to have in one tank with your larger fish WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! yeah get the fry tank up and running again and find new homes for them quickly :hyper: you'll have even more very soon as you prob have been experiencing.....good luck

if ive got too many fry which happens a lot i swap them for flake and filter stuff at the LFS

hi have done test kit to find very high nitrates i have noticed the fish flicking about but have put treatment in the tanks (large and small) which seems to have worked i was kinda worried it was internal bacterial infections but now am almost certain it's the nitrates so am heading to buy some reverse ozmosis water to set the small tank up again and fingers crossed i wont have any dead oin me in the morning... i have put 2 of the larger babies in with the normal fish and they seem to b loving it so am maybe thinking of putting in the rest so the new fry can have the tank all to themselves.......thanx for all your help guys
