Help - newbie here! I bought an aquarium for my 7 year old. I stocked it, after quite alot of research, with 4 neon tetras and 2 mollies. Despite this research, I was not aware that mollies store sperm. I now have about ten baby molly fry in a communal tank. I thought the mummy was ill, because she was off her food and lying on the bottom of the tank - I now know she was spawning. What should I do with the fry? They are in the communal tank but much too small to move, and I do not have - or want - a seperate tank.

I would strongly suggest you return those two adult mollies or you may having even more (sperm can be stored for 3 months and the fry can also, eventualy - thoughs urprisingly early - impregnate their mother and the other female). Then I'd wait until the fry are about 2cm long, bag them up and take them to your local fish store. As a replacement for the mollies, either get a couple more neons or a male platy or a single male honey gourami. Realisticaly, 7 gallons is a little small for mollies anyway - some can grow to 4" and females are generaly larger than males as well.
