hi
we have one surviving baby mollie that i rescued out of our community tank (all its siblings got eaten :( ) & its been in our little hosp tank for the past few weeks. its grown to about 10 mm big. my prob is we go on holiday on saturday & the hosp tank does not have a heater ( temp has been maintained by our house heating being on)& we only have one auto feeder so looks like baby will have to go back in with the big guys, im a little worried as hes still quite small & our tiger barbs are greedy! what do you think???? i would be v sad & traumatised if i put him in & have to watch him being attacked but dont know what else to do :/ i thought if i put him in at lights out time this would give him the best chance of survival our tank is heavily planted so if the baby has sense he could hide easily, but from seeing the rest of the babies when they were there they tended to hang out at the top of the tank in the light & that obviously led to them being spotted & their demise.

I wouldn't put him back in the tank, he probably would get eaten. Have you ever tried those net breeders? He can be in the same tank as the other fish, only netted off so no one can get him... that might be an option.

hi have to report our good news!!!!
well we went on our holiday - 2 weeks away & managed to get hold of an in the tank breeding box & put our baby in it & we're very happy as he/she has survived :D :D :D & has doubled in size & looks very happy. i put in some little uprooted plants with algae on them & a catfish tablet & it seems it was enough to keep the little fish going till we got back :D :D
