G'day All,

I cleaned my 3 foot tank today, while I was doing this I decided it was time to clean the canister filter out as well. To my surprise I found the 2 Khulie loaches I was missing living in there quite happily. They seem to have even got a little bigger. I wouldn't have thought they would have been able to survive in there. What I also found blew me away was a baby guppy. I tried very hard to scope the guppy out but leave the crud in but in all the commotion I managed to squash the poor little bugger. It managed to survive in the filter until I came along   .

My good news though after cleaning the tank and plugging everything back in I found that I have another baby guppy that has been hiding out quite nicely in among some plants. They little guy is about 1/4 inch big. Should I try and separate him or leave him in since he has managed to survive this long?

hi
poor baby guppy!!! as for the survivor it really depends what other fish you have in your tank. is there much that could manage to fit a 1/4 inch guppy in its mouth?? do you have a baby tank up & running you could move the little one to?? the chances are its survived this long it will prob be ok.

depends how badly you want to keep him
id say hes at risk until like 1/3 - 1/2 an inch ( depending on what else in the tank)
if u do decied to take him out try not to squish him =]
and i once changed my tank and in the bucket of sand i scooped out there was half an inch of water on top
and to my surprise there was a babie platy in there lol..
the mum had deid over 2 weeks before and i didnt know she had given birth.

personally i would let nature takes its course :)
theyll always be more, and its always its exciting having babys!

letting nature takes its course is good but can be derverstating. i let nature take its course and there 9 babie guppies left, few weeks later bang there all eaten. some did servive 4 along time about 3 weeks but got eaten. i thing u should maintain, theres nothing that feels better than knowing that they are safe.
