Hi everyone, just when I thought I had this whole fish keeping thing off to a tee  and I was ready this morning to run down to my LFS and get a new friend for my lonely platy, but I noticed my small honey gourami was stuck to the bottom of the upright to my external filter, don't know if he died before or that he died as a result of being stuck. :/

Any way as I was pondering I noticed something odd, all my fish were darting around frantically, as I was studying the odd behaviour, I noticed small baby fry, well after an immediate panic i was admiring them only too notice mummy and daddy suddenley eat them all. I knew they ate their fry, but not that quick.

I have managed to save one this evening that must have been hiding in the plants, I have him in a bag ( the ones that you bring your fish home in) suspended in the tank, to save him from his tank mates, will he be okay in there until tomorrow when I can get a breeding net thingy from, my LFS.

Should I feed it, ???? Any other advice, thing is I don't want a tank full of mollies. I hear that they breed like rabitts.

Many thanks

what else do you have in the tank? and if you don't want a tank full maybe just get a few hiding places and let nature take course, survival of the fittest

Well I have 1 x platy, 1 x honey gourami, 2 x mollies (mum and dad) 2 x german blue rams. Thing is this morning when I was doing my water change and sorting out my external filter,(wanted to put im zeo carb) i found loads of baby fish in the filter, and while hoovering my gravel they were even hiding deep in the gravel, so now I have 14 baby fish.

Perhaps I just take the male molly back to the fish shop because that took me nearly 2 hours this morning, and I wasn't impressed.
