Well we still have 6 little healthy baby fish swimming around-although 2 have managed to escape the net  so we have left them swimming in the tank.

I am now beginning to think them could be Neons? Although we only have 3 as some of the others have died and we have had them some years and never had babies? Are these easier to breed than Silver Dollars?

I would put up a pic and see what some of you think but it's just not clear enough- you can hardly see them! My neons don't have red fins but these babies do? That's what made me think they could be Dollars?

Another question-my other fish all seem to be at the surface of the water today? My partner cleaned the tank last night.

looking at your stocking-

We have a 200L tank-
3 X Silver Dollars(+ 5 Babies!)
1 X Black Red Tailed Shark
3 X Silver Sharks
1 X Clown Loach(one died soon after purchase)
2 X Neon Tetra(some died a long while back)
4 X Rummy Tetra
2 X Bottom feeders-these have stayed fairly small but i can't remember their name!
1 X Bigger bottom feeder

if the bottom feeders are corys then it could be them  did you see any eggs before the fry?

Hi there, yes our 2 bottom feeders are cory- but we have had these since we had our first tank so they are about 3-4 yrs old. The babies look nothing like them.

We saw nothing except 6 TINY little fish swimming around! It's really is quite odd as like i say we have never had baby fish before.

I am going to try and take another pic.

yeah it may help us to point you in the right direction as to what they are :good:
as far as im aware all of the fish in your stocking are egg layers and im very suprised that any eggs made it with all of those hungry mouths about
we can illiminate the single species so it leaves -

silverdollars
silversharks
neon tetra
rummynose tetra
corydoras

if the fry have red fins then my guess would be the silverdollars as the others dont have red fins, but silverdollars only have red anal fins and some get a touch of red on the tail fin. my silverdollars are about 2.5 inches and they only have a touch of red on the anal fin. what fins are red?

OK...i have a pic-also have a pic of my Silver Dollar- which you are making me question whether or not they are Silver Dollars at all  Mine have red tails?? I will post the pics on a new thread. Yes as far as i am aware they are all egg layers that why we are so shocked-would have thought the eggs would have been eaten.

there are several species of silverdollar but the most common are a flat silver looking fish with a red anal fin. there are spotted versions and redhooks where the anal fin is curled around in a hook shape just to name a few....
ill keep a look out for your new post to see the pics :good:
