Vip....I would say female for sure.....My male has huge bristles and he is a lot smaller than my female who has none....

As for breeding, I had my male for 3 months when I got the female....they had spawned within 2 weeks of me getting her....I hadn't even got around to setting the tank up for breeding (with proper caves and all)....now they have spawned twice with no assistance from me and I have had to move the female to a separate tank...which I was sad about as they seemed to be such good friends....but I plan on moving him with her for a bit so I can have some more fry in the 75gall tank.....

All I can say is....he must have had sexy bristles and she must have had nice fins :p

Awwwww.
Chook, they are so cute.
They have gotten bigger now. You can actually see them!
