Just a quick job update and then on to the pictures.

I'm not a jester/trainer's assistant anymore. The routine up front has been changed, so I'm now out at Friendship Cove with the killer whales. Hooray! :D
The bonus is I get informed first of anything going on with both the killer and the beluga whales. Sooo when I was working a closing shift on Saturday, one of the cove guides from Arctic Cove [where the belugas are] came running over to tell me that Priscilla, one of the 6 pregnant belugas we have, was giving birth and we could see tail flukes!

So the next morning I went in early, and snapped a gazillion pictures. I thought everyone here might appreciate seeing our newest Marineland family member, who still does not have a name. She was born at 11:59 PM on July 2nd to Priscilla, a 13-year-old beluga whale.

oh thats fantastic LF, Baby belugas are so cute, Every now and then I get to see some out rolling about in the inlet on a bike ride or walk.

I keep forgetting you see these things every day in the wild. :p

I just like 'em cos they have that giant squishy melon, but not when they're babies.
It's sad, I'm so in love with this one already and she's barely three days old!

OMG that is so Cute.

I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOo Envious right now - Kudos on you landig a Once in a lifetime Job.

NO Pic Lately, Keep them Coming.

Noit every day, every few months. I really do stop to watch them, But then again I stop to watch moose and when its winter or I'm going on the trails I see atleast two a week, I'm just a nature lover, and besides I never see them as well as you do through the glass, I totally envy you your job.

I like it, actually.. I'll stick it up on the names board at work on Thursday.

Here's two of the killer whales..
The first is Nootka at the beginning of a bow, and the second is her up close with a toy.
