Babies!

Well good and bad, I'll start with the bad. Went to my local wal-mart and browsed by the fish section and notices they had a BUNCH of newly born fry in the live plant tank, probably 20-30. I asked if they where for sale, or if I could just take them. I was told "if it dont got a sticker then i cant help you" ok great so they get to starve to death in a tank full of plants??? talking ot sevral people didn't help and I left the store feeling defeated. And today I was at my local petsmart and again noticed they had sevral platie babies in the platie tanks. I talked to the guy who promptly helped me, we where able to net a total of 6 various platies, probably a day or two old. The rest where already eaten. He also told me it was store policy to just give the babies away. So now in my 1 gallon grow out tank I have 6 beautiful dwarf and merygold platies swiming around happily eating brine shrimp. So next time you're at petsmart look a little closer, you might find some little friends who need to be rescued!

I work at petsmart and that sure as hell is us BABIES FOR FREE unless their cichlids that rarely breed we seem to give them out VERY quickly, for instance, we had Texas cichlids breed on us in the store like 6 months ago and we managed to raise up oh say about 20+ of them we weren't allowed to give any away but guppies, mollies, and guys that breed like wild fire it doesn't matter also if anyone needs snails for their puffer(s) try petsmart, we're always dying to get rid of our snails... anyone lives around Highway 7 and woodbine (or goes to that petsmarts) in markham ONT, look me up I'm in petcare names RYAN!

aWhen cichilids breed it's crazy, I've seen 20 out of 40 cichlid fry SURVIVE in a tank full of other full grown cichlids. I check the cichlid tanks just to be sure, they know me very well so if they ever get any cichlid babies I am hoping to get a few. It's kinda cool to have gotten these platies for free, so neat to watch!

yup yup That's how I got my 2 female and 1 male (fancy) guppies look awsome now
