i have just walked in the door and found 5 new fish in my tank that were not there this morning ( well i dont think they were) they are babies i beleive that they belong to the molly. please help what do i have to do to keep them alive. :(

I was lucky and had an extra cycled 10gallon up and running, so that became a nursery for me. I also went out and got a couple of fake plants that I can stick onto my glass and they float on the top with lots of little leaves to hide in.

Most people reccomended that I dont use a breeding trap or net for long, especially with molly babies 'cause they will get overcrowded easily and die.... Good luck with your little babies, they are so fun to watch!!! Mine are a month old now :)

Congrats!!

also, the little ones need to be fed about 3-4 times a day... so its nice to have them seperate if its possible for you. Feed a variety... hatch some baby brine shrimp, powder up some flakes, hard boil and egg and give them a teensy tiny cloud of yolk to nibble on, a peeled mushed up pea..... their food needs to be very tiny... :) Ok , have fun with your new babes. :)

If you dont already have it also give them plenty of places to hide such as dense planting or some ornaments they can hide under where the adults can't get to them. Mollies and most other fish will eat the fry. If you want a breeding trap the nets are better than the plastic bins that float. Mollies grow quickly and will soon outgrow any kind of breeding holder. Your pet store should carry a product called LiquiFry or you can crush up flakes very tiny almost into a powder. As the get a little older you can try Hikari First Bites. Feed them several times a day. Make sure your water quality is good also.

Good luck and congrats on the new babies! :-
