I have very sad news. I seem to have only four molly babies left. I think its because the temperature in the tank dropped by four degrees overnight bc. I left the window open. The platys all seem to be ok.

The weird thing is, the babies just seem to have disappeared. I moved the java moss and found no bodies. Could they have been scavenged in just one day? I have a ton of little snails in there. Maybe they ate the bodies. I am worried about the water getting fouled. I really hope the rest of the babies pull through. I feel terrible. I try to remind myself that if they'd stayed at the pet store, they just would have been eaten anyway. At least those six little babies had a chance.

I feel just awful....They were just tiny, they didn't even have any time to live. I just hope the ones left survive.

have you got them in a fry tank? and wats the water statS?

They are in my fry tank (its a five gallon with a sponge filter) with eight platy babies, all of whom seem ok. The ammonia is 0, nitrites 0, still have to get a nitrate test kit. I'm confused because the stats seem fine and the platys are ok...someone on another board suggested that they may have been kept in poor conditions in the pet store and the shock of being in good conditions killed them, but I don't know how likely that is. I fed the fish this morning and the four remaining mollies seem to be in good shape, they are swimming around and eating, so I hope they are out of the woods...I'll have to keep my fingers crossed.
