Hi
I have just done a water change and found a few baby fish, they have little fat orange bellies and clear tails, a few days ago i found some shells about the size of a sweetcorn cornel, so was interested to find out whether clown loaches have live fry or not , they also have very good suckion powers as when i tried to remove them to a smaller tank they were hard to get off the glass, so help any ideas please

Can you name all the fish in your tank, as it's very rare to breed clown loaches.

Clown botias do not suck themselfs to the glass. What other fish do you have in your tank? It sounds more like albino bristlenose fry to me.

Hi
I have 2 bristlenose plecs of which one has started hiding, various platies, gouramis, tetras, 1 upside down cat fish, mollies buts its not them as they have had 2 lots of fry, harlaqins, and a few other individual fish.

It's more than likely your bristlenose plecs that bred then =) Bristlenoses are quite easy to breed and known for often breeding without any help. The 'hiding' bristlenose would be the male plec, they stay around the place where the eggs are laid to fan the eggs with their fins to stop them from going fungussy. Between the time the eggs are laid and the eggs hatch you will usually not see him come out from his hiding place at all, because he's too busy looking after the babies.

It's quite likely that there are more fry in your tank, you'll find them near your hiding bristlenose plec =) They usually spawn in a cave or hollow log or something, preferable with 1 way covered so the fry can't escape without the dad noticing. Do you have a place in your tank that sounds like that? If so, it probably couldn't hurt to gently check up on it and see if you'll find the male there with either eggs or fry.

Good luck looking after them =)

Ps. I'm saying this is most likely, not that it's definatly this ;)
