well i joined this forum ages ago and was on every day askin questions and nipping heads so now i neeeeddd to report--- my guppy had about 20 babies last night yeehah. ive had problems of all sorts over the last year but ive finally managed to control my tank, gave away most of my bigger fish and kept the smaller ones, sadly some died but i decided not to buy anymore, just see what the guppys give me.
i found 1 baby about 2 months ago and he is thriving now, almost as big as his mum so any way, when i seen her getting fat i stuck her in the breeder box, and she had them last night, they are so tiny and am feeding them the loose dusty bits that are at the bottom of the aquarium food and the loose bits off the pleco tablets and tubifex. i know they cant stay in the breeder box for too long as theres not enough room but as thats clear i want to keep them in it for a coupla days to keep an eye on them. i have a big breeder net so i will move them into that in a couple of days... one of them is really fatty looking and is mostly on its back so im wiggling the box to keep him/her moving now and then.will keep you posted.
i also take a sample of water to my pet shop and they test it for me so im ok there, i buy the test strips with the colours on so although i still dont understand the ph etc, as long as the tests go the color on the tube i know my fish are ok, if not as i said the pet shop does it for me and advises me what to do.
