So I got some moss and moss balls from the Internet....I've noticed several tiny snails that look like ramshorns, guessing where there's one there's more.
I've also seen three(at the moment) tiny tiny fish looking creatures... One of the descriptions from the moss say its come from a tank with guppies...these look too big to be guppy fry. They're also the wrong shape for shrimp fry. Will try and keep an eye on them and take a photo.

What's the best advice? I've only had the tank set up a week! Leave as is? Catch and put in a breeding tank?
Thanks!

Difficult to say without seeing a picture but if you are worried, catch it and put in a breeding tank, just to be safe. Put up a picture when you have one and hopefully someone can identify it.

I'll try. They are teeny! Will see if I can see them this morning! Or anything else that's appeared! Thanks

I can't seem to find how to add photos....

Upload your photos to a server like Photobucket or Flickr. Then copy the "direct link". Then here you'll see an icon above where you add text that looks like a snapshot. Click on that and paste the direct link.

If you don't have fish in the tank at the moment, why not just treat it like a fry tank? Crushed flakes 3-4 times a day in tiny amounts. Do 50% water changes every day until the filter is cycled. Maybe they'll even help a bit with the cycling. The flakes certainly will.

Make sure to do daily water changes too to keep them nice and healthy!

The snails look like typical pests ... the first one is a ramshorn and the second a pond snail.

I thought it was a ramshorn. I'll keep an eye on them all.

My reply is missing the bit at the top where you can add photos. Don't know where that's gone.

I'll post a pic of the fry if I see them again. The man that sent the moss says he has guppies so I'm guessing they are those. Surprised they survived in the post to be honest. Must have been out of the water a few days. Still wet though. They were definitely fish looking!!

Is his tank a guppy only? Because if there is nothing other than guppies in his tank, chances are they are guppies who were hiding in the moss ball in order to not get eaten.Have you tried to feed them yet?

he says so, so I guess they are probably guppies. I put in a few crushed flakes last night but not seen them this morning. the fry are so small, they could be hiding anywhere!

I used to put flakes in a mortar and pestle to grind them into powder for my guppy fry. Once they discovered it I found they had voracious little appetites!

The way I fed my babies was with Hikari Baby Bites before moving on to crushed flakes, and they loved it. No I use a mix of many baby foods from Ken's Fish.

I've been adding a few flakes but the babies have vanished! :-(

If you have other larger fish they may have been eaten sadly. Or they may be hiding depending on the hiding spaces your tank has it's not uncommon that you don't see them, they are small and good at hiding since there life generally depends on it. Best of luck!
