The wife emailed me at work to tell me that (of the two guppy fry) i had saved, one had sadly died, and the other as it was getting bigger, she decided to put it in the big tank where i have a small angel fish. The guppy fry was considered big enough to survive, as it was a big tank, and she thought the guppy fry was mature or big enough not to be eaten.

5 seconds after the guppy was given freedom, the angel fish raced in and ate it.

BASTARD!.

now the missus want rid of the angel fish, as that was our only surviving fry.

An angel can open it's mouth quite a bit more than it appears. A full grown angel can eat a full grow neon quite easily. A half grown guppy is a quick snack.

I've got 4 angels in a 20 tall as a temporary pairing setup, trying to get a couple of koi to pair up. If it weren't for the massive amount of fake plants I dumped in there, the few pygmy corys would be long gone. You need to have a ton of hiding places to keep smaller fish with adult angels.

Sorry for your loss, but don't blame the angel, it's just doing what comes natural.

dont worry i will be keeping the angel, as i looks good in the tank.

just annoyed, as i had 30+ guppy fry and that was my last one. :(

at least we know now not to do it again

That angel is gonna come in handy if you get overcrowded with guppy fry.

I've heard a story where an angel fish ate a full grown cory. They may seem peaceful, but no matter their size they are extremely agressive! Sorry about your fry :(. I just lost my last living cory baby :-(. It's really hard.

I agree Whole Heartedly with Tolak, Don't Blame the Angel it only did what it's Suppose To.
If anybody is to BLAME it's your Wife...
With that being Said.

That reminds me of a Few years Back, I have always Liked keeping a Couple Snails in my Tanks, and I had just Started a Couple Months Before 2 Tanks with an Albino Oscar a peice in them.
I asked around about Keeping a couple in with each of them, I knew Several friends that had done it With "NO PROBLEMS", I even asked around at a Couple of LPS everyone Said they would be fine and the O's
Wouldn't Pay any Mind to them.

Well for about a month this was true, they didn't Pay any mind of the Snails being in there with them.
Then I noticed that they Started bumping into their shells but they didn't SEEM to be trying to really Hurt them More CURIOUS I thought then anything, Asked around was Told That This Was Normal, NOTHING to Worry About.

They Quit bothering the Snails "RamsHorns" Snails a Good Sized Snail to say The Least.
for a couple of Days. I thought Good I'm in the CLEAR.
Then One Morning after I got up and did my Usual, i came into my office to check on My Fish, and Noticed that Both Snails in Both Tanks had Been "SUCKED" out of their Shells, Liked Blue Point Oysters and Eatin.
Only the shell was LEFT, with no Signs of Damage to the Shells.

My Wife LOVES the Snails in My Tanks, And she told Me I should KILL My O's because they had eatin the Snails?
I told her WHY SHOULD I do that, They were only Doing what God Had intended for them too.
After all they are Meateaters for Cryin Out Loud...

Should she be killed for eatin Hamburger and killing a Cow to do So?
She said NO, Ain't heard her Gripe about it Since...
After all she's Only doing what God intended for her to do, and She can't eat a Cow without killing it First.
I also asked her didn't God tell you you can eat meat, She said Yes well then My O's were Only doing What God had designed them to DO AS WELL...
So Once again Why {BLAME THEM}???

Don't be MAD at the Angel, It Was ONLY Doin What it was Suppose To. :alien:
