Hi I'm looking for a light colour sand for my 60lts iwagumi setup
NOT Play sand, what sand is ok to by from b&q I want a heavy gritty sand

Cheers

tbh from somewhere like B&Q your two options are likely to be Silver Sand or Play Sand

gritty sand obviously isn't 100% sand and would be a nightmare to clean, just like trying to clean a mixture of gravel and sand, you couldn't syphon it as they sand would all be removed.

i have unipac silica sand in my rio 180 that's is to me a gritty sand maybe i should have said course sand rather than fine , very easy to clean and does not move with the flow and play sand does
so im wanting a heavy sand that's why i call it gritty, i just want to make sure if i buy from b and q its safe, maybe river sand that's courser

ok in that case you want a quartz sand (which is more like a very fine gravel) or possibly coral sand depending on your plans for the tank,

no idea what exactly they have at B&Q but IMO most of what they have is unlikely to be suitable/safe for use in a fish tank
