Hey hey,
I just bought 3 filament barbs for my 4ft, I'm not really into barbs I put too few tigers into a very gentle community tank when I was 12 and foolish enough to always believe the guy at the LFS, with depressing results.
But these are awsome, I think they would definately still freak out a gentle community but I needed something robust and fast enough to live with my evil shrimp.
I have never heard or seen of them before and having looked them up now would have still been uninterested if going by what I have googled.
But they are really fun to watch, they have crazy energy and they spend there whole time bickering but they brighten up the tank no end.
two of them sort of swim round with their mouths touching like kissing gourami's but faster they don't seem to be doing any damage and it happens and its only in short bursts once in a while. Anyone know if this is fighting or flirting?
Store bought they are bigger than most barbs ( I know some can get quite big after a while but mostly in stores they are fairly tiny when bought) these are about 2.5"
Anyone know anything I don't about these? Am I gonna come across any nasty suprises?
The store was pretty cool I found them in- Old Ford Tropics in Devises, Wierd opening hours but reasonably priced with a big selection and some fairly unusual ones and the lady who I talked to seemed to know her stuff.
Don't know if your allowed to promote stores on this but I have no affilliations with them it just seemed like a cool store!
