Attack Of The Brown Stuff

My 10g tank has this brown cloudy stuff growing on the side of it and i dont know what it is can anybody tell me what it is and how to get rid of it thanks

Sounds like brown algae, this is very common in newly set up tanks. Best you can do is to wipe down the sides of the tank with a clean unused cloth or an algae magnet. It can take a while for it to subside, lighting doesnt make much difference, but try to keep it under 10 hours a day and also keep the tank out of any direct sunlight.

Frequent water changes and lots of cleaning it off , it will go eventually, usually to be replaced with gree algae

ok cheers i will do 25% water change later then give it a good wipe

wipe it before the water change m8

Hm, I had a bit of this a few days ago, so I just took everything out of the tank that had it and washed it with tank water, then put it back into the tank.

I ALSO CHANGED THE FILTER CARTRIDGE.

After that, there was no more brown stuff.
