how can i attach plants like anubias nana and java fer to drift wood? elastics would be too hard the way i have this set up, i have the logs just whree i want them and i just do not want to move them. i affraid of using string cause of toxins taht may be preasent. any suggestions?

Can also wedge the rhizome into nooks and crannies in the wood.

I use thin cotton thread. It eventually rots away leaving the plant secure. Any pollution created by the cotton is far too little to cause concern.

I tried black thread but it rubbed against my lava rock and brock to easily so now I use fishing line or invisable thread. You will be surprised at just how quickly they attach themselves.
