in filters. eheim pro's are all lovely looking, but then you get a green tube. why? surely see through would be the best type to have? ok green in a planted tank would be ok, but most tanks you wouldn't be able to see them anyway

I bet it's so you don't see a whole bunch of nasty brown algae that tends to collect in those tubes. With a clear tube (like mine) you see that stuff very easily. It helps if you want to keep the tube sparklin clean but I just want water to flow through it.

Eheim do a great Spray Bar kit, but at £15 each for the inlet and outlet (£30 together!) it's a rip off. Luckily I got mine on a special offer and they were included (at no extra) with my filter

bloo, in my hunt for eheim accessories i've seen them. they "promote" things that are obviously not true but never-the-less they look alot better than a floppy pipe (no innuendo intended).

They are without a doubt (in my mind) better than the green ones. I've even replaced the spraybar (only) (due to cost!) on my 19 gallon with the eheim 2213 classic. I just hated that rubbish stupid little green spray bar. It "sits" so much better in my tank and hangs perfectly.

They are arguably the best and best quality range of filters in the UK (German made) - with a price tag.

my thinking is...if i get the fancy eheim bits then i can get an elbow piece to go into the end and i can have my co2 diffuser hidden better than if i have a massive pipe loloping about.

of course i could just get some of the sucker pads
