Over run with snails, tried everything

Got 4 assassins

They were great for 2-3 weeks,

Now they just seem to av given up!

Any reason why?

There are only so many snails an Assissin Snail can eat in a week (3-5 I think is typical) and if you are overfeeding the tank so much that the unwanted snails are breeding like rabbits (but not Rabbit Snails), then your population of unwanted snails will keep increasing.

Spend at least 5 minutes a day catching unwanted snails yourself and you ought to eventually sort this infestation out. I had a real problem in my 620T last summer and I eventually eliminated Pond Snails from it by daily manual removal foir 2-3 weeks, the amount of baby snails I removed was staggering (in the hundreds) and the tank is now completely free of them.

Iv got a huge amount of fry so I have to feed them regularly. Might just buy another couple of assassins

Cheers for the advice tho

Should only be feeding enough that they can eat though.

I had a snail problem 18 months or so ago. I got 6 assassins and they were great. All pest snails were gone within a couple of months.

I thought my two assassins weren't doing their job (only been there since last week) but have now started seeing lots of snails being vaccumed up. Before getting assassins I was doing the manual removal daily too and it wasn't helping... had the same problem of having fry food probably making the problem worse despite regular water changes and gravel vaccuming.
