Assassin Snail Spots

I have 2 assassin snails and they like to get on top of each other and only come off when its feeding time. They have been doing this for several days and today I noticed little white spots on one of them. I have no idea what this means! Help!

I think you know what the "stay on on top of each other" part is .

As to the white spots on the snails, that would be unrelated. Its possibly either corrosion due to too soft water and/or acidic pH, unless you have nerite snails?
