Thanks for all the information on “top or topless.”
Now, onto the next newbie question: in the tank I (rescued/inherited/whatever) there are three assasin snails, put in presumably to keep the bladder snail population in check. However, they seem more interested in hanging on to each other (mating?) than eating — see picture. While this picture shows all three in a “menage a trois,” mostly it involves just two of them, who are attached to each other for at least 75% of the time (two weeks and counting for the most recent escapade).
I do understand that it takes a while for baby assasins to emerge, but this mating — if that’s what it is — seems excessive.
Question: should I separate them when I can?
