hi i have a Assam Blue Snakehead my question he is realy timid just stays hidin all day i have had him 3 days know i never see him he is alays hiding in the bogwood is this normal for this speices

I wouldn't say they're timid but yes they do tend to hide away, especially if you have just the one, I don't have experience with assams but my Bankanensis is almost stealth like, being able to get from one side of the tank to the other without you seeing

hi ye its a heavly planted tank including floating and i bearly ever see him stays tucked away in the bog wood (which is also planted with java fern and annubas )

What sized tank is it? What other fish are with it? Give it a week or two with a bit of food and it will soon be out!

700l tank other fish in the tank are frog mouth catfish 2 plecs ornate bichir jack dempsy

He will be a bit small in the long run, but as I said just give it a week or two of feeding and it should be ok!

Temperature 18-22 c, although does get exposed to higher temps during the summer. another sub-tropical species ,do not keep them too warm year round ,they will die of infection please bare this in mind...
I would imagine you temp will be higher than this?
It is new so hiding is normal, however i feel the tank mates are not the best for him, jack probally is intimadating him, frogmouths? as in Chaca bankanensis ? if so there ambush predators, might well make a meal of the channa
