Asian Water Fern Propagating

Hi, my Asian water fern has been growing a new plant for a bit now and i was wondering how long it could be kept on the leaf before I take it off and plant it as its own. The new plant itself looks healthy but the roots are starting to get very long and seem to have what looks like a bit of fuzz around them. It would be appreciated if someone could tell me if the fuzz is a worry and if the plant is ready to be taken off.

Usually that pup will continue to grow larger..but the leaf its on will slowly start to die off. Either you can remove the pup by then..or it breaks off anyways.
