Asian Sun Catfish

i had 1 of these cats about 2 years ago in a 2ft tank as i was sold it as a max of 5 inch fish.... as soon as i found out it could reach 18 inches i took it back but was gutted as i loved the colouring on this fish. now i have a tank of a suitable size i hav been back and bought home 2 new sun cats, they are about 2.5-3 inch at the minute so have a good way to go before hitting full size. if i remember right my old sun grew quite fast and was very greedy, we only had it about 2 months and it must have doubled in size.
do any of you keep these cats and how big do they get as ive been reading and getting very varied reports, from 8 inches up to 18 inches. also am i remembering right that they are quite fast growers?
also i remember onkly ever seeing a quick flash now and then with the old sun we had but the 2 new ones are all over the tank like corys..... is it because there are 2 instead of just 1...?
these will eventually find home in my 6.5/2/2 that im currently preparing.

I used to have one in my 240L but as you say they grow fast and within about 16-18 months was around 9"+ (from a mere 2-3" originally)and had consumed quite a few dithers (Giant Danios, Buenos airies and Serpae tetras)

I'd definitely say 18" or just under is fairly possible and easily achieved by this species due to its unfussy nature when it comes to food, Mine would eat literally anything, when i saw it of course as again like you say, with just the one, it would mainly only come out after dark or when it didn't think people were around.
