Can someone give me a good set up for this type of theme. Also will i need a skimmer?
Edit: woops i forgot to add 55 gallon tank

Sounds a very great idea. I don't know how authentic you want it, does it have to be the sort of fish that would only be found in the same river/country? And of course much depends on the size of your tank. There is a very good article about different habitats by our own Neale Monks in the latest issue of Practical Fishkeeping Magazine, if you live anywhere where you can get hold o that. For a typical mountain stream you would need rocks and stones, plenty of water current and fish such as larger danios (if you have the room), or Hongkong plecs.

For a gentler forest river, maybe some khuulie loaches and some barbs.

Shouldn't need a skimmer anyway.
