would like to now if my 25 gallon fluval 125 is suitable for a south east asian black river pool biotope aquarium, and if so what fish and plants would be a suitable size to put in there, i was thinking maybe these types of fish (although obviously i wouldnt be able to fit them all in my tank) Gouramis, Bettas, Rasboras, Loaches, Glass Catfish, Cyprind sharks, Flying Fox , please feel free to give me some interesting ideas on how to set this type of tank up thank you !

There's no reason why it wouldn't but in all honesty, go for just 2-3 species, the overall composition would be much better, there are a lot of plants that come from Asia that you could use.

You might want to re-think a few of your fish choices too, if it were my tank I'd go for a school of 20 Rasbora's, a school of 6-10 small Loaches, and a few Gourami's, probably Sparkling Gourami's, you could make your set up specific to one region and you could use fish base to help you find fishes from this region.

Yes it is. I'm in the process of sorting one out (although admittedly it has taken a backseat to other things at the moment).

Agree with SBS though - stick with just a few species rather than lots. A shoal plus some centrepiece fish like gouramis and some loaches for the bottom would be fine. Fish that get a bit larger like the sharks etc might not work in a 125, can't remember the exact dimensions of those tanks, but my personal feeling would be to skip over that kind of fish and stick to larger numbers of smaller fish.

cool, thank you, I knew I wouldnt be able to fit that many species I was just asking for possible combinations, what plants would work in this sort of tank ?

sorry for the double post but how many rasboras could fit into a tank of this size?
