I was feeding the fish tonight, and noticed some Platy fry in my 15. They must have been only 1-2 days old, judging by the size. But I wipped out my camera and got some pictures. So I figured I'd post the best of them for all my Livebearer friends. :D

Blurry, yet the only side view:

And finally...all you could ever want to see on a fry:

(Sorry it's so big, but it needs to be for the detail)

Little cuties, huh?

Cute little babies there. Excellent pics too. Every little detail is shown clearly. Good luck with them Anna.

Thanks Love_fish. Usually they have to battle it out in with the adults, but I took these three and will raise them so I can perhaps get a step-by-step grow up log. Which will hopefully be helpful to newcomers. :)

That's a good idea. Prolly will help loads of people out.

Great pictures Annastasia
I think a log is a grand idea.I know I will follow it closely and pick up loads of tips.
Cheers
:D

Thanks Weaver! Since there seems to be interest, I'll go for it. I'm thinking maybe once a week, or do you think that's too frequent? 2 weeks?

Awesome pics, great detail :snap: ! I think once a week should be great, although you might wanna do it once every 2 weeks once their growth has slowed down a tad and they have bulked out a bit  .

Thanks Toxis. :D I'll do once a week until they hit about 2 months, I guess. That's when mine usually start bulking out....but they also get color then, so it's hard to say! We'll cross that road when we get to it though.

Wow :hyper: That is the largest picture of a fry i've ever seen, not to mention how crystal clear it is. What camera did you use? Must have costed a lot of money for such a good macro.

Hey IovaykInD! I haven't seen you in a while! Thanks for the nice comments. :) I used a Canon Powershot A620. It was pretty cheap, as cameras go...a little under $300. Great camera though...as you can see, the macro is great, as is the zoom and megapixels. Lots of funky features too. :hyper:

just in case a newbies opinion mattered- i'd be interested too! i've got a pregnant molly and am a little nervous about what happens after they are born :)

They're not around any more - and were born in September 2004, but here's some of the Molly Fry I had:

This was the Mum and Dad who are no longer around either:

Of course your opinion matters! I'm glad you like it too, I'll definitely go for it.

Cute fry, Hayz. :)

They usually eat them, however these two got the 'hiding in the floating plants' thing down. I decided to save them, so they can become the famous little fry in the fry log. :p

They are hard to spot. I thought they were a piece of food when I first saw them on the lillies. They're about .5 cms right now. :)
