Just to take note that anaerobic pockets shouldn't be a problem in heavily planted tanks. That statement is more for non planted tanks wanting to use sand substrates.

Well if you want my advice tis up to you to take it but I would reco using silica sand something simular to sandblasting sand, reason i say this is because I know in my planted tank I Have bottom lovers Kulie Loaches and Cories, the play sand usually has small particles of glass I found this out doing research before i built my tank. Silica is pure well Silica.... Weather its for a planted tank or not looks good, seems to be way finer then your play sand, and comes in 2 colours Black the kind I use and White I shyed away from and forget the reason why i did.Dod someone do a pinned article on play sand? If so, can someone please post it here for me?
All sand has 'particles of glass' in it. After all glass is made from sand!!! These 'particles of glass' will do no harm as they are actually sand.
