sorry about ramboling i litterally got home today an well i panicked lol i just need to no if there is a way i can help i fish without meds as i wont be able to get them an when i can it will probley be to late.

Well by the sounds of it the only thing you can do is water change.

first things first is not to panic - white on the fins of your fish is probably the onset of fin-rot, this is normally only caused by a low immune system, which in turn is caused by stress (through bullying or poor tank conditions).

Seeing as you have been away for a couple of weeks, did you use a feeder block as these sometimes disintegrate early and decompose? As you've also come home to algae, can almost certainly put this down to poor water quality. Ok, you have no meds - please tell me you have some dechlorinator (tapsafe/safestart etc) - do a water change, if you can't manage a big one of around 50%, do a few daily changes of around 25% to get some oxygen in the water and dilute polutants.

Having no test kit, can you at least get a sample of your water into a local fish store - you'll find them incredibly helpful and they're almost always happy to test your tank water, will give you a good indication of where you stand.

Sounds like possible fin rot?

Water changes are the best things to do if you cannot get medications.
