Just been upstairs, and noted that the tank up there was dark. Funny i thought and went to check the timer.... nuffink. Oh sh!t, the four-way extension is off.....


Ask OH .... 'mm ill check under the bed dogs may have knocked it out of the socket'....

Well, they had, and no thats not his fault but.......


He noted that his pc which is off the same socket was off AT SIX AM THIS MORNING AND FAILED TO FLIPPING MENTION IT.

So that tank has been off, no heat no filtration no light, for a MINIMUM of 17 hours and QUITE probably a lot longer before that.

He cant claim he doesnt know that set up powers the tank as well as PC as HE set it up, HE noticed the power was out this morning and didnt say a flaming word.

Fortunately theres only Ellis eel in there and fortunately he currently SEEMS fine.

What are the chances the filters crashed in that time? The tank thermometer is a strip one and isnt actually noting ANY temp currently so i have no idea how cold it has actually got (house is currently heated to around 20c, however its been colder than that as the heating was off until 3pm!).

I could strangle him, HOW hard is it to engage brain and say something instead of just effing and jeffing that his pc isnt coming on?

the fish should be fine

established tanks can easily go through a day or 2 without power as long as temps don't get too cool. the fact your fish is swimming fine now is a good indicator that all is well

He seems ok - no worries Modaz, i was more pizzed at OH than worried. If anything happened to Ellis id be really annoyed but OH would probably be MORE annoyed as it was him who took a round trip all day on the trains to get Ellis!

Well, to start with, noticing that the PC was off AND the fish tank was off would be multitasking. He is after all just a man and his mind would have been full up with the thoughts of the PC, so no room for anything else.
