Argh, Tannins!

is it just me, or is the tannin rich water kinof cool and natural looking? i like it! it makes me imagine a giant bass lurking in a dark lake......

Yeah, I think so too. I added some more wood to keep the color going!
 
I add blackwater extract to mine as i like the tannin look too

I have some wood that has been soaking for months and the tannins are still coming out strong so you shouldn't have anything to worry about. :)
 
Personally i can't stand having tannins and gave my wood a good boil before use and then used carbon aswell.
 
I guess it's up to your opinion. Personaly, I am going to keep the tannins because the fish seem to be more comfortable in it.
