I noticed our Platy has been a bit sluggish yesterday and today, but since we have some Ich in the tank at the moment I put it down to that.

We've just looked in the tank and there are little fish swimming about!!

What do we do? I can go get a breeding thing tomorrow morning, but have no idea what to do or how to get them in there? That is, if they survive the night - we have 4 Tetra, 1 small Platy, 1 small Betta and 1 small pleco.

We were never planning on breeding fish - We just got the Platy on Saturday  We've had an aquarium all of 2 weeks and we're getting everything thrown at us!

With fry you are only meant to half dose of even less with the whitespot med.
You can buy little plastic tanks that hang inside the tank, but there not always ideal if there loads of fry.
How many gallons is the tank.
What are your water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.
Fry can survive if there plenty of hiding spaces and plants to hide in.
Float a plant at the top of the tank.

Do you have a tupperware tub ? Put some water into it float it on the top of the tank catch fry andleave it to float on the top the temp in the tank will keep the water at a constant temp and if you have a wee airstone stick that in so the water is at least getting some movement :D

Then hotfoot it to the LFS first thing and get a trap :D lol

Some lfs will take fry if they have fry tanks.
Just give them a ring before you go to see if they would take the fry off your hands.

Hokey dokey, after calming down a bit, I've got a tupperware box and filled it with some water from the aquarium. We've managed to catch 10 of the fry and put them in, which is a bit better than leaving them in the tank itself I guess?

DF is going to be at LFS at opening tomorrow to get a proper trap!

Add abit of fresh declorinated water to dilute the med down.
Get a breeder trap with a lid as some fish will jump into the box and eat the fry.

If you want them to grow well I suggest you get interpet liquifry no. 2 to feed them.

Once they are about 10 mm start them on crumbled flake.
