Argh Disaster.....

I`ve over pruned my plants. and got rid of far to many of my fast growers....

Do i need to run to the LFS and get a few bunches of cabomba or can i step up with water changes? I.e 50% once every 2-3 days?


The tank is running 30ppm co2 2.5wpg and E.I

What have you done with the pruned material? Either plant this or leave it floating on the surface, no point buying more!

Having said that, so long as there as still fast growers in the tank they should keep things under control, I would think pruning would only stimulate them grow faster!

I pruned it at the weekend,so all the prunings are gone.
there is still some rotallia in there but i ditched all my luwiggia to be replaced by Limnophila aromatica (that unfortunately has been delayed in the post)

take some (not all) the ludwiggia floating in my 10g, and there's more and some cabomba in rincewinds tank

Theres still not alot of bio mass there to replace what was taken out.
Plus i don`t want to tanke plants out of rincewinds tank as theres loads of riccia in there and i`m trying to get the riccia out of my big tank

I recently did a major prune in my 120l EI tank and all pearling stopped for two days. Just as I was getting a bit worried and the dreaded algae threads started, my lemonmade bottle look is back. I must have chucked a 10l bucket of Hygrophilia Polysperma.

I was hoping the rest of the plants would take up the slack but sadly i`ve noticed some hair algae and diatoms building up. and its got worse over the past few days.

So what is going to be my best bet? water changes every 2-3 days or grap a load more fast growing stems?

Fast growers for sure, or both if you're able! Do you have many shrimp in the there?

Sadly the seachem flourish i used to get rid of my BBA at xmas got rid of my shrimp too
