would they work with fish like blue gouramis, silver dollars, danios, and blue rams??
are tiger barbs good community fish?

I have them With all of those fish and I have no Problems!!(Except I dont have blue rams) 
I think it will be ok....I even have them with angelfish And there doing great together.
There a great community fish aslong as you have room for them and atleast keep the them in a group of 6 so they dont get bored and start to mess with the other fish.
Great fish and are amazing to watch in a group!!
There are alot of theories myths and do's and dont's when it comes to what fish go with what fish....Many people have their own oppinion but in the end your going to have to experiment.

I have 10 of tigers/barbs (see sig) and although not with all the fish you mention, it does appear to be true that even an active group (mine are well mad
), they will keep to themselves and not hassle any other fish because I've never had any trouble from mine.
Tiger barbs DO rock. If you have the capacity I would recommend that you mix the green and the stripey ones - they dont seem to be able to tell the difference, if they can they don't care as they all shoal together.

I Have 6 I just had to take out 2 to put into my 29g I am going to get more tommorow for the 29g and the 55g.....I want to get some albino tiger barbs and Some Jumbo tetras!! hehe...

Have a look at some green ones while you are there, the colour on them really shimmers in the light. They act EXACTLY like the stripeys.
I think what I like the most is the fact that they are always going somewhere doing something amusing themselves. You dont catch them wandering around bored or lost or drifting - cool

The never seem to be bored when there in a group there always up to something and always amuse you and bring life to a tank!
