Hey everyone, My guppy has been pregnant now for ages, she started with a gravid spot then her belly grew etc. Every night when i turned out the light in the tank i was convinced she was going to give birth as she has been showing the signes also. But over the last couple of days black marks have 'grown' on her sides, her gravid spot is so near her back end its almost not visible and its hard to explain but it just doesnt look normal. Its like she cant get them out. I saw some white stuff being released but no babies straight after. Do i just have to let nature take its course?

I have seen the guppies release the white clear stuff then the babies a few hours after but don't disturb her otherwise she will just abort them.

HTH

GoodLuck

Its not good news i'm afraid. I searched the tank for her this morning only to find her dead under a plant. I got her out straight away and her belly had Practically exploded. I decided to do what was best for the fry and try to get them out. She had about 10 or more but they were bigger than normal.
Yet again unfortunately they were also dead. I just wish i could have got them out sooner, she was such a beautiful guppy and i've lost not only her but the fry i could have had.
I guess there's not much i could have done for her, moving her would have stressed her out but i'm totally gutted about the fry too.

Awww i'm sorry about your guppy maybe their was a complication, u said her belly had blown up, it could of been drospy? I had a female that went the same way.

i'm sorry about your bad news... its always a bummer. a month ago my platy had fry except for they were all stillborn and after that her health gradually deterioated and she just died last week. maybe next time will go better.
