Hey guys yesterday i moved 6, 1 month old mollies into the 46 gallon tank because thats there new home. Anyhow i moved them and i notice that some swam but hide thinking that the big mollie was going to eat them. One of them sat right on the gravel but every time i looked he was on a different spot. Today i came home and looked and now 3 are just sitting on the gravel. Does this mean that they might be dying? The way i moved them was that i got a bag and put water from their tank in it then put them in there. Next i put the bag in the new tank and let it sit for 15 minutes then added water from the new tank and let it sit for another 15 minutes. Then i release them. I havent tested the water but will in a couple of minutes and i will post and let you guys know what they are.

Ok guys i tested the water. Here are the results.
Ph=7.6
Ammonia=0
Nitrite=0.25 to 0.50
Nitrate=5.0

Ok i have never had readings of Nitrite's that high so i dont even know what these might mean. Two days ago i changed about 10 gallons of the water. So if anyone can help me i will be very grateful. Thanx.

Was the new tank cycled? If not maybe it's going through the cycle and at a nitrite spike. Have you been testing the water all along? Was there an ammonia spike?

sorry, I'm a newbie so I really can't help much. :(
