Hi, I got some kribs about 3 weeks ago and theres a male and a female which hang around together all the time, her belly is very burgundy in colour and looks the size of a pea, I'm presuming she has eggs :D I have put half a terracotta pot in the tank (they don't want to know it) they are hanging around a piece of bogwood. How long will she hold these eggs for? can anyone give me any advice please?
Thanks :D

Hey there,

Your kribs probably will breed sooner or later. I've always found that the best thing is to do is leave them to it...The first sign of breeding is often when the proud parents emmerge with their fry. Unless your kribs are very good parents then the babies are unlikely to survive for long in your community tank but then your tanks seem pretty big so you might have some luck if there's lots of cover.

Cheers,
Luke.

my kribs were together 3 weeks and then bam I got babies 30+ of them in a 20g with 6 rasboras, 3 cories, and 1 rubberlipped pleco, and man are the parents vicsious to the other fish if fry are in 6 inches in any direction of another fish the parents chase the fish to the opposite corner of the tank. I found my parents to be very protective, best of luck to you.

Phillip
