Definitely within one weeks time, probably in 3 days I'd say. You can turn up the temperature in your tank, say to 78-79 F, and she'll give birth sooner if you want. Here's a picture of my female guppy due 2 hrs before she had fry:

snowys right by the time, your fishy is due to have here fry any day now. to speed it along i userally pump up the temp. to about 80 . gl :D

:D the temperature is almost up to 80 now I usualy try to keep it in the 80s... Shes had fry before just not with me the other lady that had her said she never ate her fry but the other fish in the tank did. I know she kinda acted like a crazy lady last night at 3am she was all over the tank, she didn't eat that much today not like she usually does. It seems like i've been waiting for ages for her to have her fry....

Thank you for the help and if anyone else can think of anything please feel free to say something...snowyangel your female fish is beautiful I love the colours...

What should I do with the fry after she has them should I put them in a breeder net??
;) My niece is 10 and she wants a few of the fry how old should the baby fry be before I can give her some?? :fun:

ur female sounds like she should have then within the next 24 hours. a breeder will ensure more of the fry survive but there is no such thing as a livebeaer that wont gobble up its yung soon after birth.

i would let the fry grow for about a month b4 u hand them over to sumone else, water change is especially hard on young fry.

Thanks for the compliment. If your neice , who's only 10, wants one I would wait a good 5-7 months so it reaches adulthood so it will last longer under her care. The first 3 months are still pretty fragile for the fry. I mean you have to wait till their about 3 months old before putting them back with the parents, let alone giving them away. Also, by 7 months time, the baby will have produced all its colours so your niece will like it better. :)

I've been keeping an eye on her all night and haven't got anything yet she doesn't like the light being on so I will just leave it dark in the room for a bit. she looks more square-ish or maybe squished up ???
:fish: :fish: :fish: :fish: ;) :p

it rely hared to tell :D but im pretty sure they are just young male guppys. they look a lil thin and sqrawny but they are definately guppys. ;)

they are very thin & sqrawny I'm feeding them twice a day once in the morning and once in mid day right before dark do you think I should feed them three times a day for awhile ???? or is there something else I could feed them to get them a little fater.... I was thinking that they were very little just the other day but didn't know if they were or i was just worrying ( I know they are eating cause I watch them for awhile..

thanks for the help
I hope some day soon I will have baby fry to show everyone lol

:D B)

Everyone keeps saying they like peas, what do you have to do with the peas before giving it to them????

yes feeding them 3 times a day will fatten them up nively.

guppys absolutely love peas, first remove the outer skin and then drop them in, in my tank its like a feeding frenzie.

try it on ur fish and lemme know how it goes.

I gave them some peas and the females went nuts over them the males liked them to..
Is it ok or a good idea to keep all the males in one tank 10g and the females in other tank 10g... the friend that gave me the ones i have wants to give me the rest of her guppies. not sure how many are left but i will be giving maybe 4 or 5 to my 10 yrs old niece lol since the ones my firend will be giving me are already grown. so she doesn't have to wait 7 months to get some of the baby fry..

The other thing I would like to know should I give her all males or some of both??
her tank is a 10g it will probably be in the living room but not to sure.. :D :D :D

average guppy gestation period is 28 days. snowy's mommas were like clockwork on that. Right baby factories they are!

Query: fresh peas, thawed frozen peas, canned peas(salt rinsed off) or boiled cooked peas?

SnowyZMom B)

p.s. I have a 10 gallon male monastery for the guppy males. Gives the females a holiday and discipline is good for them anyways! Besides who needs wall to wall guppies? 4 females at 40 fry a month...you do the maths! :shifty:

p.p.s. Just had a thought...if you give your niece all males she might like them better, as the males are usually more colorful than the females. Usually...some females can get enormous colourful fantails, but the males get all over body color.

And which kind of peas people????
