hey guys.

my parents are keeping a small (38gallon) tank with some african cichlids. it's just a phase, and will burn
out eventually but while they're doing it, i make sure the fish are well taken care of, within the limits of a 36" long tank.

anyways, they are looking to keep colorful fish, without caring for species or sizes. we have several good LFS that
take in our fish when they outgrow their tanks, so that's not a problem.

the problem is most cichlids at the LFS so far have been blue, yellow, or orange. my parents got two blue, two yellow,
one brownish one and a bala shark. they want to get something green and/or something red.

i know next to nothing about african cichlids, so i'm at a loss as to what i should be looking for.

can you point me in the direction of such fish if they exist? so i know what to look for in the stores...

thanks.

Haplochromis burtoni

The males can be blue, green or browny red, they are aggressive though like all cichlids.

Immature males and females are silver.

I've never seen one of those Aulonocara Dragon Blood, they look beautiful.
