Are some fishes more vain than others

I know that fish feel pain, illness, parasites on their skins, water quality, aggression, hunger etc......but has anyone ever seen their fishes admiring themselves from the glass?

I have had this instance with my Bala shark. I even saw it 'pouting'/quivering its lips! Only saw it once though.... I think it may now be too shy to do it again!

Thats what My balas Did!!!

We where moving some stuff out of the closet (The tank is about 4 feet away) Well there was alot fo stuff in such a small closet...so while I was removing all the junk I put a small mirror on the tank stand beside the tank. So I cleaned out the closet put everything where they needed to be....I went to the tank to take the mirror and put it in the bedroom when I saw my balas doing something funny. 3 of my bala sharks where looking at the mirror and dancing lol. They would go up and down and would stop and try to touch the other bala shark in the reflection...but then they would hit the glass of the tank LOL. They would not not move from the corner of the tank and stop playing till I removed the mirror.

They where doing alot of things with there lips! lol....they kept on picking at the glass and then would pick the other balas thats around them

Not to be annoying but could it not just be that the fish you meantioned are shoaling fish and they are looking at what they think is another fish?
