Are Salvinia minima as bad as Lemnoideae?

Will Salvinia Minima overrun my 20g tank like duckweed would?

If you mean will it cover the whole surface, yes if you let it. But unlike duckweed it is easy to remove and keep under control. And should you ever decide it's not for you it can be totally removed without the fear of missing one tiny plant.
I had salvinia years ago and now have the similar red root floater. With both plants I just lift out handfuls when it gets too much.
