Are Platy's?

are platy's female swordtails? i'm confused.

we have some male swordtails, of course they have the long pretty sword looking tails, then the females we have look like platy pictures i've seen. Do the females have different names from the males?

no, a female swordtail is still a swordtail lol

Hi,

yes female swordtails look like platies but a bit more slender and they grow bigger. platies and swordtails will also cross breed.
