they been in my tank for about a year now & i have noticed that they started rupping each toghter & following each other around my tank

what you they doing

They could be demonstrating breeding techniques, or the male may simply be trying to attract the females attention. Am I right in thinking yellow tips are egglayers? If so, they won't have sex, but the female will produce the eggs and the male will fertilise them.

If im correct, you should start browsing the tank within the few days searching for eggs, they may be scattered, on filters, heaters, plants, caves, or the glass. They may even just scatter them on the floor.

wow really   cool

do they have 1 batch or to they have many batchs

yes they have eggs

Most fish will either damage or consume/eat any eggs that are laid if they are left too long. If possible, remove the eggs when you see them into another tank or breeding net, making sure you are delicate. Remember to keep the eggs moist or under the water when moving them. ;)

That is if they are actually spawning, if they are, just keep a look out. :)

i have not seen any eggs

what do they look like ?

the fish did the rubbing a few months ago like every day for week about
than a month a go 1s
than today & a few days ago

You sure you don't mean silver tipped tetras rather than yellow tip tetras?

Tetras will breed all the time, but they are all pretty much cannibals and will eat each others eggs, plus it takes the right conditions for the eggs to hatch out even if they do survive. My neons mate all the time but the chances of them successfully hatching out fry in my community tank is quite remote.

yes :look: they are sliver tips
ok thanks :D

OK so on of you guys mentioned tetra's breeding all the time, but teh chance of a successful fri being remote. Does this count for Zebra Danio's as well? I have had about six in my tank for just less than a year now and while the Platies have successfully reproduced (ok only once), the zebras seem not to.

OK before i get silly questions about am i sure there are male and females in the tank - the answer is, i am not sure, i know there is one at least that seems slightly wider and the silver stripes are wider the rest are thinner (well more slender would be a better term), but there is no aggressive behaviour amongst them, so I'm confussed!
