I have a few questions about my Dalmation Mollies, but its quite hard to explain so please bear with me! I tried to take some pictures, but they are not very good, the fish are so quick! And always think I'm feeding them when I go near the tank so never stop moving.

1) The female has yellow or gold patches on her. They come and go, sometimes a few, sometimes bearly recognisable. They don't look like a parasite or anything, from the descriptions I have read anyway. I'm not sure if the two males have it, I havn't noticed it.

2) Mine are black with white dots, but sometimes the smaller dots seem to be more silvery and even an electric blue. I don't have anything blue around the tank, what wcould be causing this?

This pic was taken a couple of weeks ago. You can see the yellow on the female (right of the red platy) and the blue dots on the male at the edge of the tank

my male turned completely black not long after i got him and my female has always had orange spots on her and every time she gives birth she loses more spots and gets darker so everything sounds fine to me.

The yellow colouring is quite normal. Some of my mollies born from the same parent may have silvery sides or even blueish silvery sides-thats just random. But over a long enough time the mollies do darken with age. I try to breed as silvery as possible so they stay dalmation longer.

Thanks for the responses all, I feel much better now!
