Are Co2 Solenoids Good?

Just wondered as I've found a good CO2 kit that comes with a solenoid that will shut the CO2 off when the lights go off, just wondered if thats good or do people leave it on over night???

As you have said, the solenoid switches the gas off when the lights are off, plants won't utilise it so there's no point in giving it to them and therefor will save you gas.

Get a plug timer and set so that the solenoid comes on 1-2 hours before lights on and off 1-2 hours before lights off.
