are bubbles ok in a small tank?

Hi yall. I had a question about bubbles. I have a small 3 gallon eclipse tank with one dwarf blue gourami and I was wondering if its ok to leave the air pump on all day. The tank is small so the bubbles covers the whole rear end of the tank. I was wondering if this will stress out the fish or would be beneficial for the fish. My fish seems to like it when I turn it on, but am not sure if I should leave it on when i go to work. Please let me know. Thanks
