Just wondering if a german Blue Ram can go in my 55gal. tank. The tank will be stocked with 5 boesemanis, 6 neons, 6 rummy nosed tetras, 5 cory cats, 2 ottos, 3-4 swordtails. I've been looking for a fish to be the main point. So would 1 or 2 blue rams work?

My female blue rams left everyone alone....my male wouldn't tolerate dwarf gouramis, female rams, or a bolivian ram I tried with him. He was okay with the glolite tetras though....so alot of it depends on the fish. Make sure you can return or rehome fish if you want to try it. I have heard many stories about blue rams gettting along with a lot of fish, mine was just particularly bad, so be forewarned!

I have a pair of rams with some cories, harlequin rasboras and rummy-nose tetras. They all get along great, except for when the female laid eggs... then they ran the others off that came too close. They never hurt them, though. Just ran them off. I say it sound good. Good luck!

Mine have not paired off, so the only aggression is between male and female, and even that is very minimal. All of the other fish seem to be ok. In fact, the rams are relatively skittish. :p

Mine are in with discus, tetras and cory, in a 70 gal. There is no trouble between them. When they were gaurding fry they chased away the others when they got too close, but didn't cause any real issues. Quite funny to watch the tiny ram "facing off" with my biggest discus, and the discus siddling off looking sheepish after a couple of moments... Would've thought your tank would be fine for them.

I have a male and female in with 2 bala sharks, 2 mollies, 4 platys, 1 red tailed shark, 6 tiger barbs, 1 green phantom plec, 2 catfish and they all get along fine.

LFS advised to get 1 male and 1 female as males can be a bit aggressive together.

Hi
I have 2 males and 1 female in with silver sharks, neons, red-eyes, glowlight, silver tipped tetras, cherry barbs, cories, rainbows and ottos and they all get along. The 2 males tend to squabble when its breeding time but nothing too serious. They have a great character i've found and would recommend them. I was told by my lfs that they are quite shy and timid but i've found them quite tame and curious about things.
