Just thought I'd post some photos of Archie at around a week since or so since his rescue. The incident earlier in the week with the bloated belly must have been just overfeeding and constipation - I'm thankfull that it wasn't Dropsy!

He's getting 4 Hikari Betta Pellets a day - usually two per feeding - I've also bought some "tetra" whole blood worm, but not sure that a whole squidy pack will be too much for him - any thoughts?

Lee.

hmmm is that under feeding him?

Mine get fed 3 times a day, 3 pellets each time ( on my days off)

and then 3 pellets 2 times a day when im at work

hes looking great btw

Perhaps yeah that's what I was worried about and why I mentioned it.

once a week

i normally feed 3 bloodworm in the morning and then 3 pellets in the eve

others may feed theirs diff tho

It is personal prefernce when it comes to feeding, some feed once a day, some feed three tikmes a day and others feed every other day.
Phoenix is right about feeding bloodworm once a week, any more and your fish may become constipated. I feed mine once a day and then don't feed for one day a week. It works for my fish and I've had no problems doing it this way.
Feeding once a day won't do any harm as long as your fish looks and acts healthy.

I might as well carry on feeding him his twice daily routine, however increace his feeding to 3 pellets twice a day

The "Tetra Fresh Delica - whole bloodworm" is a no no for bettas - I triedputting the content of the "Tetra Fresh Delica - whole bloodworm" in a jug of water to try and seperate the jelly stuff that they are mixed I thought it might work, but it was hopeless, what I ended up with was a horrible mess in the jug of water that looked nothing like bloodworm. - however the fish in the 30G community tank seem to like it so it - so the rest of the packet won't go to waste.

There was no frozen bloodworm at Pets At Home, plenty of Frozen Daphnia and brime etc, I wasn't sure that bettas would take daphnia, but if they did I'd rather get it live, it's cheaper and has to be better for them than frozen!

(I have never come accross a bag of live bloodworm at my LFS that is actually live!)

Daphnia will be fine as will Artemia, Mysis, Krill etc. Some fish can be quite fussy when it comes to food but my boys love all of these!

Thanks for that stang1, got some brime and daphnia during the day, and when I got home this evening from a mates house Archie had made his 3rd Bubblenest whilst he's been with me - this is probablly his biggest yet!

You're welcome. ;)
That's quite a bubblenest he's built, you must be proud!

Yeah, it makes me a happy bunny when I see him bubblenesting, because I know that I must be doing something right as I don't believe he'd bubblenest if he wasn't comfortable with his surroundings or was unhappy in anyway! :)

I just love your betta he is so pretty.

and he is quite the nest builder, makes my boys look rather lazy.
